Original Advice

DONT: Don't ask questions you're not ready to hear.

Only Ask What You Can Carry

You claim you want honesty, then recoil when it lands. Every question you aim is a boomerang with your name carved in it. If you ask about loyalty, talent, desire, failure, you are agreeing to the bruise. Stop fishing for reassurance disguised as data. Stop staging cross-examinations you can’t stomach. Ask, and take the hit. Or stay silent and own the not-knowing.

Information is not sterile. Answers rearrange rooms, redraw alliances, puncture utopias you’ve architected in your head. Your genius for seeing patterns also scripts outcomes; you pose ‘objective’ questions to keep feelings at arm’s length. Honesty demands a response: apology, breakup, pivot, humility. If you won’t move, don’t harvest data. Curiosity without capacity is cruelty. Build the container, then go knock.
